Martin France. Born: Rainham, Kent. 29/2/64
Martin began studying drums and percussion at the age of 9.
Soon he started to perform in shows with orchestras and in Working Mens Clubs with Organists backing a variety of singers and entertainers.
His teacher, Geoff Riley, introduced him to Jazz and upon leaving him after six years he moved to London and studied briefly with Kenny Clare.
For the last eighteen years Martin has toured all over the world with various artists and composers.
He has played on a variety of film soundtracks and commercial sessions while also performing with such great Jazz figures as John Taylor, Kenny Wheeler, Ralph Towner, Lee Konitz, Dave Holland, Arild Anderson, Mike Gibbs, Steve Swallow, Nils-Petter Molvaer and Django Bates.
